Outpatient Services

Over 300 people pass through the doors of our Outpatient Department each weekday.  We offer many services that do no require certain patients to be hospitalized.

Medical, Obstetrics and Surgical Clinics

Each of our inpatient services also runs an outpatient clinic on weekdays.  Patients are first screened by qualified Nigerien nurses and then referred on to the appropriate clinic for further care.

Emergency Services

At night and over the weekend, our Emergency Room functions to provide after-hours care to those too sick to wait until the clinic is reopened the next day.

HIV/AIDS Program

The HIV Program is an integral part of our work at SIM Galmi Hospital.  Dr. Matt has directed the HIV Program since 2011, together with four full-time Nigerien staff, the program seeks to advance the awareness and treatment of HIV/AIDS and provides Christ-centered care for all who come to the clinic.

Dental Clinic

We have a small dentistry service that provides basic procedures including extractions.  The clinic is overseen by a dental surgeon who works alongside three Nigerien dental assistants.  While this department is one of the smallest in the hospital, the service provided to the people of Niger is of great importance.

Under-5 Clinic

Known to us as the PMI, our outpatient Under-5 Clinic serves as a primary care centre for young children.  On a normal day 50 children will be seen by a physician at the PMI, during busier periods that number can triple.

Chaplaincy Services

While ministering to human need through medical care is one of the primary purposes of Galmi Hospital, sharing the Good News with those who have not heard is another core aspect of the hospital’s mission.  All the volunteers and staff are encouraged to be a witness to Christ, but the hospital also has a dedicated evangelism department with personnel charged with sharing the gospel throughout the hospital.  The evangelism department is currently composed of 5 full-time Nigerien chaplains.

Join Our Team

Our hope is to have more doctors on our Medical team who, compelled by God’s great love and empowered by the Holy Spirit, will join us as

* We cross barriers to proclaim the crucified and risen Christ, expressing His love and compassion among those who live and die without Him

* We make disciples who will trust and obey Jesus, and become part of Christ-centered churches

* We work together with churches to fulfil God’s mission across cultures locally and globally

* We facilitate the participation in cross-cultural ministry of those whom God is calling
